The Silver Cats Club has been active since 1984. We are a not for profit organization (501 c3) whose main function is to raise monies to benefit animal welfare agencies and individuals. The Nevada Humane Society has been one of our main recipients along with Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada, Community Cats, Animal Ark, Ria Katz and a small scholarship at the University of Nevada, Reno for a veterinary student. To that end, our group produces yearly International Cat Shows as well as Household Pet Cat Shows to raise our funds. As community outreach, the club also participates in school programs, visits to the elderly and disabled care centers, and working with Sierra County, California in their program against violence.
The Silver Cats Club meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. (Please click on the Meetings tab to the left for confirmed meeting dates). Meetings are held in the multi-purpose classrooms at the Washoe County Animal Services Building in Reno. Membership dues are $25.00 yearly for an individual or $30.00 for the family. If you are interested in joining our group, making a donation or would just like information, please email us at Robin@RenoSilverCats.org. |
